Standards and Guidelines ENQA 2015
Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) were adopted by Ministers of Education in 2005, at the suggestion given by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) in cooperation with the European Students’ Union (ESU), European Association of Institutions in Higher Education (EURASHE) and the European University Association (EUA).
Since 2005, there has been a considerable progress in the sphere of quality assurance, as well as in other activities in the framework of the Bologna Process.
Due to the changes in the context in 2012, the Ministerial Communiqué invoked the E4 Group (ENQA, ESU, EUA, EURASHE) in collaboration with the International Education, Business Europe and the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) to prepare a draft of the revised ESG "with a view to improve its clarity, applicability and usefulness, including the areas of application".
The development of the new edition of ESG included several rounds of consultations with the participation of key stakeholders and ministries. All the comments, suggestions and recommendations received have been carefully analyzed and taken into consideration by the Leadership Group. They are reflected in the final version of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the EHEA (ESG). This version of ESG was approved in 2015 during the EHEA Ministerial conference in Yerevan, Armenia.
The original version of revisited ESG 2015, its unofficial translations and more information on these Standards and Guidelines are available on the website of ENQA.
Independent Kazakh Agency for Quality Assurance in Education made its own unofficial translations of ESG in Russian and Kazakh languages, which are presented below.
