Dear students,
Our agency constantly works on protection of your rights for receiving quality education in higher education institutions and TVET organizations in Kazakhstan. Students are the central part of the academic process in HEIs and colleges. Therefore, your opinions and ideas play an essential role in the process of evaluating the efficiency of the content and structure of study programmes and activities of educational organizations. It is very important for us that every student is aware of his or her rights on participation in the development of Kazakhstani educational organizations and was aware about the necessity of the process of quality assurance in education.
These days, one of the main criteria in evaluation of educational organizations is the existence of a student-centered approach in education. Student-centered learning is a fundamental principle of the Bologna reforms in the field of higher education, which involves a shift of emphasis in the educational process from teaching (as the main role of the teaching staff in "translation" of knowledge) to learning (as active students’ participation in learning).
Students involved in the procedures of quality assurance must understand the role of quality assessment due to the following reasons:
Although students are not experts in the academic field, they can be experts in areas that are directly related to a student life: equipment of university, organization of learning and extracurricular activities of students, activities of the student government, etc. Participation of students in the accreditation procedures promotes the protection of the rights and interests of students, as well as positive changes in their student experiences.
