The representatives of the IQAA took part in the 9th Conference of Ministers of Education from the European Area of Higher Education (EHEA) and the 4th Political Forum of the Bologna, which took place on May 14-15 in Erevan, Armenia. The events were attended by more than 100 delegations from 47 countries-participants of the Bologna process, as well as 20 Ministers of education. The introductory speech was delivered by the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, who highlighted the importance of reforms in educational systems in the world.
The Kazakhstani delegation was headed by the Vice-minister of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Takhir Balykbayev. The delegation included rectors, representatives of the Bologna process and academic mobility center, Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education, and students. During the conference, participants discussed the perspectives of the Bologna Process and defined the main priorities for its development before and after 2020. The participants of the conference presented the main results of activities in the field of quality assurance, the usage of ECTS-credits, systems of qualifications, recognition of the previous education, which were introduced in the Working Plan of the BFUG for 2012-2015.
One of the most important decisions made during the Ministerial Conference was the inclusion of Belarus in the number of members of the European Area of Higher Education. Thus, Belorus became the 48th country-participant of the European Area of Higher Education. At the end of the conference and the forum, there was the adoption of the Erevan Communique of the Ministerial Conference, as well as the declarations of the Fourth Bologna Political Forum, which contain prioritized direction for a further development of the Bologna Process in countries-participants.
