This seminar was conducted by the Director of the EQAR Secretariat (European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education) Mr. Colin Tück.
Colin Tück was a member of the working group for the revision of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG), and he is also a co-author of the European approach for quality assurance of joint programmes.
The seminar was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, members of the Accreditation council, Rectors, Vice-Rectors, representatives of different universities and staff of the Agency.
In the framework of the seminar, the following topics were discussed:
- ESG 2015 – the main changes;
- EQAR's role in the EHEA;
- External quality assurance across borders;
- Quality assurance of joint programmes.
The European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) is a non-profit and independent body, which is responsible for managing the register of QAAs that comply substantially with the ESG. EQAR was established by E4 at Ministers' request and is being jointly governed by stakeholders and governments. The main mission of EQAR is to enhance trust and confidence in registered agencies for quality assurance. Currently, the European Register includes 44 registered quality assurance agencies as well as governmental members without registered agency. Kazakhstan has been a governmental member of EQAR starting from 2012.
During the seminar participants had an opportunity to address relevant questions to the speaker and to the President of IQAA Kalanova Sh. At the end of the seminar, all participants received certificates of attendance.
The seminar was held in Astana, business center "Saint Petersburg", IQAA conference hall.
